About Us

Our Mission…

We are a group of agencies and community organizations that represent children with special needs in Wake County. The SEAC serves as a conduit between the families of students receiving special education services in Wake County Public Schools (WCPSS) and school administrators to

  • promote communication
  • create opportunities for families to better understand the school system and special education policies, and
  • create a positive working relationship so that all students can become valued, respected and contributing members of their school and community.

We meet once a month, on the third Tuesday of the month, often at WCPSS’ Crossroads II. Meetings are open to the public, although there is no open commentary session. Visitors are welcome and can write to us at specialeducationadvcouncil@gmail.com for meeting details.
